Southern Pigeon

If you listen very closely to a pigeon with a flute
he can whistle Abraham Lincoln a nifty pancho tune
Or so I've heard from travelers on the patriotic tree catcher trail
Octagonal paper arachnids were caressing my wombat
with their red and turquoise feathers
when all of a sudden my vision turned plastic
and in a sudden haze I was falling through a ripple in a purple sun
I hit the floor and looked up
to see I was standing before a door in front of me
This world was new a place that I'd never been
I slipped into an inverted funnel moving faster than a Stratocaster
rising from an expanding sea of LSD
Curse words flow out of a hallow tree like snot from a toddler and stream into a thread of galaxies
that are darker indeed than Autumn's finest wine
You could feel the loss of time
with everything so synchronized
Just as I stood up a vine shot through the sky
It was so colorful and trippy that I realized
it was none other than
one of Jerry Garcia's magnificent ties
attached to a suit
worn by the banana of a lactose
intolerant canoe
sinking into
the sub woofer
of an old stereo

If your soul has gone astray
I won't claim to know the way
There's only so much I can do
But the rest is up to you
If your life is a maze then trim the walls
As a species we're prone to rise and fall
Perfection is everything or nothing at
all
Think of all the possibilities
If we weren't so opposed to
apologies
Or limited by language and
technology
And the only thing between us were
the seas
But you're only human and I can relate
I didn't think things through and I
practiced mistakes
I guess the traits we take are the choices we made
Trying to find the reason that you
exist
Is there someone or something
observing this
What is real about reality
I don't know and honestly it
scares me
If you've noticed this is a
reoccurring topic
It's because I think too much about it
Ill do us a favor and change the subject
Do you want to go to the beach
No we don't, maybe next week
But that's what you said last week

He was walking to the store
late one night
Gonna get some home-made chicken fried rice
Can of Campbell's soup and a cup of orange juice
when he slipped into a vat of toxic goop
he became
Pressure Man
Pressure Man
does what he can
answers the call of an ambulance
Pressure Man
Pressure Man
don't get scared
your shaky hands gotta handle with care
because
Only you can save my world
Only you can save my world
Dives to the depths of a thousand yards
but in social situations he's a social reeee.......
Travels through galaxies by slingshot black holes
but if eye contact's Antarctica than he's the North Pole
he is
Pressure Man
Pressure Man
does what he can
answers the call of an ambulance
Pressure Man
Pressure Man

All Apologies

What else should I be
All apologies
What else should I say
Everyone is gay
What else should I write
I don't have the right
What else should I be
All apologies
In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married
Buried
I wish I was like you
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame
Aqua seafoam shame
Sunburn with freezer burn
Choking on the ashes of her enemy
In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
[x2:]
Married
Buried
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah
All in all is all we are
All in all is all we are
All in all is all we are
All in all is all w....

Alley Cats
03:29
|
|

Well early on, barely three years old
got no memories and a heart of gold
but that all changed the day I lost my dad
He said son one day you'll be a man
but until that day comes you won't understand
why I do the things that I do
and why I can't be there for you
Well eight years later, one fine afternoon
school days strummin' the same ol' tune
When I got home I was feelin' blue
but the sunshine put me in a musical mood
Went downstairs and I got a snack
finished the homework sittin' in my backpack
It's the same ol' train goin' down the same ol' track
same ol' train goin' down the same ol' track
Well once I was done I went looking for some fun
in the scorching hot sun near the garbage dumps
and that's when I found me a green eyed cat
I said "here kitty kitty *meow meow meow*"
his ears pointed up and he turned around
and that's when I saw that my daddy was a kitty cat
yeah that's how I found out my daddy was an alley cat (imagine that!)
And imagine my surprise when I realized
my entire life was one big lie
and just when I considered turning in a stray
He said son look away your old man's about to cry
but before he got the chance to cover his eyes
I noticed a tone of insincerity
and I noticed that he'd never really notice me
Those Alley Cats
ain't meant to stay
Something in them ain't quite right
'cause they always run away
Those Alley Cats
ain't meant to stay
Something in them ain't quite right
'cause they always run away
Been eighteen years I gotta daughter of my own
I hear dear ol' dad's in the nursing home
and when I think of him I try my best to laugh
I ain't never gonna be no damn alley cat
I'm gonna love that kid to the moon and back
and I'm always gonna be there for her
yeah I'm always gonna be there for her

Christmas For Police
02:48
|
|
||
Well I was walking earlier today
Fear is all I see
All those people running away
Hear the screams of dismay
As the bullets fly
I saw a man terrified to speak
He could only seem to repeat
That there’s evil in the streets
Yeah it’s Christmas for police
So their kids are getting beat
There’s a werewolf on the road
Pools of blood under snow
And it’s so hard to sleep
Keep your eyes glued to your feet
When you’re walking home
‘Cause it spreads like a disease
Yeah you’d better believe
That there’s evil in the streets
They may come with smiles
But they’re up to no good
In your neighborhood
And your warrant’s written in crayon
And the captain he’s ex klan
Rounding up the poor
Now the pigs are in heat
Your back’s gotta target sheet
When it’s Christmas for police
Christmas time is here again
Christmas time is here again
Christmas time is here again
Christmas time is here again

Playgrounds

Back in the city where parts of my life are stored
The history's connected by yellow dashed chords
Our eyes can see certain colors but the rest we couldn't afford
I've been catching qualities that the wind has blown
And coexisting with my alter ego
But your only the result
of combining of your heroes
One man's trash is another man's treasure
It's not just objects, the list goes on forever
Yesterday I ran into my childhood at an old playground
As I paced around the forgotten thoughts
I created new ones
Time keeps moving and so should we
But the grass is always greener even in our memories
After all they're what distinguish dreams from reality
Stumble upon a memory
and take a personal vacation
Your tracks overlap
And you're united with the past
I didn't mean to be a subconscious detective
But when i saw the same canvas from a different perspective
It was then that I could see we each must have a playground of our own
An architect designed it and your imagination built a home
